In the next couple weeks I kindly ask for your patience and prayers. Recently, my mother’s health has been in decline. It is apparent now that she is in the final stage of her suffering and all they are doing now is maintain her basic comfort. I have been spending more time in the past couple days at the nursing home to be by her side.
For the next couple weeks I will be trying to honor the commitments scheduled and have only necessary appointments (funerals/weddings). The emergency number is to be used for sacramental emergencies ONLY!!! A sacramental emergency is basically for requesting the anointing of the sick or for scheduling a funeral afterhours or on a weekend.
My mom always instructed me and understood that it was important for me to put the needs of my parishioners first, which is why I have been hesitate to acknowledge her recent decline in health. Between my schedule for Lent, Easter, and now dealing with my mother’s failing health I have been feeling the weight on my shoulders. Please pray that God will continue to give me the necessary fuel to continue plowing forward as I strive to balance the work of the parish and the needs of my family. In the weeks ahead I acknowledge that it may be necessary for me to take some time to rejuvenate. I kindly ask that you allow me the space to do that.
It is important in the weeks ahead that you check our Facebook page or the website for any last minute scheduling changes. Again thank you for your patience and understanding. As our late Bishop McFadden always said, “Please pray for me, as I pray for you.” May God bless you and your families! Thank you again for your patience and prayers!
