Saint Patrick Church is in the process of establishing a "Capital Improvement Committee" which will look at priortizing a list of things that need to be done such as repairs and updates to the physical plant. As Father Carroll has already mentioned the need of replacing the kneelers, refinishing and reuplostering the pews. The outside courtyard also needs to be addressed because of the cracking payment.
It has been almost 20 plus years since any major repair has been done to the parish facilities. The Captial Improvement Committees first task will be to walk through the campus taking notes of what needs to be done. Also they will look at the recommendations made by the Long Range Planning Committee. Once we have a list we will begin to look at the cost for all the work.
The committee will begin work in early Novemeber 2015.

Letter written to the Parishoners in the weekend bulletin of October 18th from Fr. C
Over the past year, many projects have been brought to my attention that need attention. Initially, I was tackling each project as it was presented, determining importance, getting bids, etc. After the first several projects were reviewed, I realized that each week there was something new to address. So, I have decided to establish a Capital Campaign Committee. My plan for this Committee is to initially meet in early November. I will charge them with the task of surveying the insides and outsides of our properties, from the corner of S. Beaver St. and W. College Ave. to the corner of S. Beaver St. and W. Princess St., for all safety, repair, replacement and remodel issues. This will include all of the buildings owned by the parish, e.g. Parish Office, Brenner Hall, School, Cafeteria, Church and Rectory and all of the houses on S. Beaver and W. Princess Streets. The Committee will identify the projects; prioritize them in order of importance; develop the timeline; procure the bids; do a fundraising feasibility study and launch the campaign. Some of the projects I have already discussed with you are pews and kneelers in Church and repair of courtyard between the rectory and school. Some new projects that have surfaced are a new school roof, repair or replacement of sacristy windows, spacing issue with railing and water leak in choir loft outside window, and major repairs of rental properties on Beaver and Princess Streets. I will keep you informed via the bulletin of the progress of this committee. If you would like to serve on this committee or have any ideas, comments, thoughts, please send an email to Terry at [email protected]. I ask for your support and your prayers for our parish during this time.
