The Oder of Christian Initiation of Adults adapted for children:
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is the way that non-baptized or those baptized in other ecclesial communities are fully initiated into the Catholic faith; it also applies to and can be adapted for children of catechetical age (generally age 7) since according to the Code of Canon Law they are presumed to have attained the full use of reason. Therefore, any unbaptized children (catechumens) over the age of reason who desire to become Catholic participate in the Christian Initiation process which leads the to the celebration of the three Sacraments of Initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist – at the Easter Vigil.
Children who have been baptized in another ecclesial communion / Christian faith (candidates), or have been baptized Catholic, but are uncatechized, not having received First Eucharist (candidates), are also welcome into the OCIC journey to be welcomed into, or more fully initiated into, the Catholic Church.
