Holy Eucharist (or Holy Communion) is one of our three Sacraments of Initiation. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith through the actions of the Holy Spirit and the Real Presence of Jesus; His Body and Blood become present under the form of bread and wine. When we receive Eucharist, we are receiving the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. It is through the Holy Eucharist that each of us are nourished by Jesus to seek God’s Will, be drawn into deeper union with the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and one another, and find the strength we need to become true witnesses of Christ’s healing light in a broken world.
If your child is in second grade, and you would like him/her to receive his/her First Holy Eucharist, please find, below, some of the basic requirements for reception of the Sacrament.
