The Catholic School and Religious Education Program are an expression of the education mission of St. Patrick Parish with which it is associated and of the diocese. Therefore: the Pastor is responsible to the Bishop for the administration of the total parish, including the parish school, the Principal functions as the chief administrator of the school and is a member of the Parish staff, and the Cooridnator of Religious Education (henceforth abbreviated as CRE) functions as the chief administrator of the Religious Education Program and is a member of the parish staff. Regular and open communication between the Pastor, CRE and the Principal is essential.
Just as the Parish Pastoral Council serves with the Pastor on behalf of the total parish community, so too, the parish Board of Education serves with the Pastor, Principal and CRE for the good of the Parish education community. With the various demands for expertise required of a Pastor, School Principal and CRE today, the need for a consultative group of people who are committed to the Catholic education and are willing to work for the good of the parish, school and religious education program is important.
